Known for their locally roasted coffee, and old-fashioned soda fountain, Smokey Row is headquartered in downtown Pleasantville, with locations in Des Moines, Oskaloosa, and Pella.
Smokey Row is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 9:30 a.m. til 9:00 p.m., and Sunday opens at 11:00 a.m.
From it’s humble beginnings in a rented building with only 10 tables, Checkerboard Restaurant has grown into being a staple of Pleasantville, IA. The restaurant has been passed through the family for almost 40 years. Since it opened, family has been bussing tables and helping out customers.
